HKTB
set up office in Guangzhou
On July
15th, HKTB set up its Guangzhou office under the “9+2 negotiate”
blowing. HKTB had set up its Beijing and Shanghai office earlier
just before Guangzhou.Chairperson of HKTB Chou Liang Shuyi indicated
HKTB will set up more close strategic partnership with tourism boards
of cities and provinces around the Pearl River Delta, share the
experience of tourism service with their mainland counterparts,
upgrade the profile of the entire region and make it more competitive
in world. It is said that the mainland visitors has become the largest
source of Hong Kong tourist market. Only in the first 5 months of
this year the arrivals visiting Hong Kong have reached 4.8 million.
Visitors from South China area, especially around the Pearl River
Delta, occupy almost 73% of the mainland tourists. Vice director
of National Tourism Bureau revealed that the mainland attached great
importance to the tourism cooperation of Pan-Pearl River Delta and
will actively support the course. Along with CEPA and tourism cooperation
in Pearl River Delta being in effect, the National Tourism Bureau
is considering quickening the pace of pushing IVS of Hong Kong and
Macao into forward.
