Individual
Visit Scheme visitors reached 2.6 million in one year.
With the Individual Visit Scheme (IVS)
in effect for nearly one year, altogether 2.6 million travelers
had visited Hong Kong. In July, the average of daily arrival jumped
40 percent and reached 12,400, setting a new record. These visitors
play an important role in stimulating Hong Kong’s market, bringing
a robust push to restore Hong Kong’s economy. The vice section chief
of the Entry Department in Hong Kong Special Economic Region pointed
out that if setting the average expense of each visitor as 6000
HKD, the total would be 15.6 billion HKD. As the individual visitors
continue to increase, group visitors maintain their level. Hong
Kong, being famous as a shopping paradise, still attracts many visitors.
In the first half of the year, daily group visitors amount to 3800
in average, 10% more than that of last year.
